A great challenge with a complete Mega Man 2 feel. If only all downloads were like this.
If you are familiar with the likes of Metal Man, Air Man, and Quick Man, than you have probably already purchased this title. If not, than do not let me be the one to tell you what a groundbreaking title it was. Mega Man was born in a simpler time. When gamers were not guaranteed to beat their games as long as they played long enough. Mega Man took some skill, and Mega Man 9 takes major skill. There are some times in this game when you will want to smash yourself in the head it becomes so aggravating. This will make your victory that much sweeter.
This game does not let the good old blue bomber do much. I find it very refreshing to not have charging Mega Man's buster be an issue. This game is all about timing, jumping, memorizing your opponent's movement, and using that knowledge to destroy them. It is not about how much power you have in that arm. This is what makes this game great, but it also what makes it hard. Some levels may take you quite a few tries to beat, but eventually you will, and it has a convenient save feature so the game play can last several days.
The music is great, the graphics are great, and most importantly the game play is stellar. If you are a fan of the old-school Mega Man, than do not be skeptical. If this is your first time, give this game a try. It may not have all of the fancy graphics we have been spoiled with in the last few years, but is fun, and that is something there is not an overabundance of.
