Good but not all that great.

User Rating: 7 | RockMan 7: Shukumei no Taiketsu! SNES
Megaman 7 is a game based on the classic series.
While the core game play remains the same the new visuals are definitely impressive, but the stripped down contents can make the game less satisfying, and when comparing this game to other titles like Super Mario World Megaman 7 hasn't evolved much.

Story: In the year 20XX Megaman fought Dr Wily many times until he finally captured him and brought him to justice.
Experiencing countless defeats by Megaman Wily knew that this day would come, so in secret he prepared and hid 4 robots as backup.
The robots then awoke and went on a mission of destruction in search of their master.
Megaman was called out to the scene to stop the robots; however the attack turned out to be a distraction so that Wily can make his escape, Megaman non the less managed to stop one of the rampaging robot but was then confronted by another mysterious robot and its partner. The robot introduced it self as Bass and Treble.
Bass tells Megaman that he is too weak to stop Wily and should let him handle it.
Regardless Megaman decided to confront those 4 robots and capture Dr Wily at all costs.

Game design: With the leap to the next-gen SNES the graphics have drastically improved, Megaman was given fine detailed sprites along with other characters.
You will have a stage select screen and bosses will have weakness against each other. The graphics are so detailed when you hit a boss with his weakness weapon he will react to the hit as well as take extra damage.
A new feature is Auto's shop, in addition to Flip Top, Auto is another supporting character and will help Megaman by developing items in exchange for screws that enemies drop during stages.

Game play: Despite his new and more detailed look Megaman plays the same as before, jumping, shooting and sliding.
The good news is they fixed the charge cancellation, so you don't have to worry about recharging shots when taking a hit.
Rush will also make a return, but unlike the last game you will have to find the adaptions hidden in the stages.
The super Adaptor also makes a return, but you will have to collect 4 letters hidden in stages to unlock it.
Also unlike in MM6 you only have the Jet adaptor form, but this time the charged shot will be a rocket punch which....well..packs quite a punch.

Sound: Lots of sound affects in the game which is to be expected, however it's a shame that they didn't give Megaman a voice.
The music is addictive and great to listen to!

Although Megaman 7 provides the same fun challenges the previous titles did it is nothing special.
Contents from the previous game have been stripped down so the game is very short, also although the new graphics is great the figures are too big and may make it look like the environments are cramped and you won't have much space to dodge things.
Megaman hasn't evolved much, so its hard to tell people to give this a shot while there are other and bigger games like Super Mario World or Donkey Kong Country.
Fans should take a look at this game, as for newbie, its not hard to get into the controls since the game is much easier to pick up than the first 6 games however you will find nothing special to really like about the game and since its short I would recommend a rental before anything else.
