With the possible exception of Contra, Megaman 2 has yet to be matched in terms of quality platform action. Defeating each boss would power Mega Man up with a new weapon. Each boss and level had various puzzles whose difficulty decreased provided you tackled that problem in the right order, ensuring you had the best tools for the job. Going back later and seeing if there was a better way to do things gave this game excellent replay value, as well as the very difficult and seemingly endless final battle against the nefarious Dr. Wily. Excellent gameplay was matched by a pump-up soundtrack. The weapons were unique and each had it's own varied uses, but nothing beat Metal Gears!
