The time of kings, castles, knights, crusades, and honor. A game which will stand the test of time.

User Rating: 9.5 | Medieval II: Total War PC
This game is set during the Medieval Age, from 1000AD all the way to the 1500s, or even more provided you continue onwards. This game gives you the freedom of time, being such a long game you get to watch your enemies and friends evolve throughout the campaign. Even your closest allies can become enemies given enough time. The length of the game also gives you a diverse range of equipment and units as the years go by. For example in the beginning most of the units are just spear-men with barely any armor, this then evolves to archers, then crossbows, knights, all the way to the discovery of gunpowder, where the first musketeers and canons come to play. The map is confined to Europe, but the Americas are discovered later on in the game. This game is old enough to pre-date motion capture, or the early beginnings of it, however the action in battles are brutal, and makes you feel like the general shouting orders to the soldiers. The small things like the family tree, and the ability to shape each family member into their own unique character makes the game that much more immersive. Together with the ability to take prisoners and decide their fates. Conquer the world by using fear, blood-thirsty violence, or diplomacy, its all in your hands. This is personally my favorite game, and what made me into a true Total War fan. This game will not disappoint. Take up the sword, march to battle, and watch the world crumble to your feet!
