Not your boring spam troops and zerg RTS

Right off the bat if you think RTS should be troop churning games similar to command & Conquer you should just keep on browsing elsewhere. This game reminds me a lot of Majesty put with a tad more control, and a bit more needs, basically a more challenging Majesty since I can't just sit there and toss out flags when I feel like it and still be successfully.

If you played Majesty you will notice its really similar except theres more buildings, ie the blacksmith is not you one stop shop for your hero's gear. First thing that sets it apart is theres no guilds, or class specific hubs, or bases. They just need a place to sleep, after that you choose how many of each class you want till you fill up the beds. you also have to set up places for them to eat, and relax a little.

Also they tend to get picky, right off the bat low lvls don't care, they will take the cheapest beds and could not care if the food vendor washes his hands. Diversity also helps as well, unlike majesty the inn is not a one stop place, theres lots of vendors for food, and even different ways to entertain them, and the higher the lvls the more they want quality.

To some the feeding, bedding and entertaining thing is annoying, such as the guy who gave a bad reveiw, but this isn't a generic RTS its not made so you can sit down spam recuirt buttons then zerg your way to victory. Its an RTS sim, your managing these heros, and the fact they have needs to me makes it better, means you need to take time out of your day to set up stuff, and they will leave the battlefield.

Ive played solider in real life, a bed, food, and a little entertainment gos a long way, and to me thats what makes it more real/fun there not just idiot zombie slaves who never rest or have needs. Not to mention never run away in the heat of battle, thats my favorite touch to this and majesty there smart enough to know when there in way too deep and run, making spending time getting them geared and happy worth it since in most cases they will run if they can saving you work.

So if you don't mind a little sim touch, and not using mindless zombies this is worth a shot, especially since its cheap now, and is a real nice change of pace. If you find this game decent and like it I also recomend Majesty, Majesty 2, Guild 2, and Evil Genius, which in my opinion break the norm and try make you feel more into the game instead of just some one observing and giving orders from miles away.
