Great game, but can we say repetitive?

I am kind of new to the entire shooter genre. So maybe my review is unfair because all shooters are like this. Never the less, I feel as though I have to get it out that this game is a little repetitive. The same principle for most of the game: your a marine destroying artillery bases, or running for your life, or just walking through the pacific and shooting any japs that come along. The scenery as well, a dense jungle with trees on all sides. Clearings are hard to come by and they are just villages in which there are no inhabitants but japenese soldiers defending it. Still, the core game mechanics of it are sound and fun, and it is still a good buy. The multiplayer is good, but its just so hard that for the moment I'm sticking to the campaign. I got in the 10th anniversary package, and by far it is the best game of them all. I recommend it to anyone who wants a solid shooter experience.
