WWII. Just thinking about it brings many horrors. Gas chambers, torture, and decapitation with arms and limbs everywhere. Thankfully though, EA games has not chosen the low and gritty game you would expect, and instead chose to have a lighthearted, yet fun, game

When I bought this game a looooong time ago, I instantly was attached to the story, graphics, action, etc. etc. Recently, I played it again and found it a bit different from the usual crop of games that suck about WWII. First, the graphics are still great, but lack Gears of War- esque texture. For instance, on the first level, D-Day, basically the ground is just a gray tile, with some brown mixed in for good measure. The story is MIA, as you are basically a soldier who can do extraordinary things- like falling from a 4-story German Villa, or blow up a U-Boat, and even launch bazookas standing up with nooo recoil. What did this kid have for breakfest? Sadly, the most troublesome part of the game is it's AI. I know Brothers in Arms or Call of Duty are celebrated for great AI, but even they have a few bugs. This game, in fact, has stupid soldiers standing out in the open- a great match for your Thompson. You cannot really pick up weapons either, unless you have none at all. The sound is excellent though, not that you can hear it when people explode around you. There is no blood at all, and although I used to like this game, if I had to, I would recommend the Brothers in Arms series or the Call of Duty games, both very different, yet at the same time very alike.
