An entertaining but short WWII FPS worth playing.

User Rating: 8 | Medal of Honor: Airborne PS3
Medal of Honor: Airborne is a WWII FPS on the PS3. It's an entertaining ride from the first time you are pushed out of a plane to the destruction of the German war machine. The graphics are great and the gameplay is too. The downside is that the game is a little short and the controls take a bit of getting used to at first.

The gameplay is pretty standard for an FPS. The thing that sets it apart from others is the upgradable weapons and jumping from airplanes. The upgradable weapons adds replay value and makes guns a joy to use. I love adding a scope to an STG-44 or a 50 round drum mag to a Thompson. Jumping from airplanes is amazing, there is a lot of detail put into the environments. Green smoke indicates safe drop-zones and there is usually extra ammunition or health at these areas. The game is a little more open-ended unlike other Medal of Honor games.

Like I said, the game does have a small amount of downsides but that does not ruin the game. The game consists of 6 different campaigns (missions) ranging from Operation Husky to the allies attempt at a knock-out punch in Operation Market Garden. The missions usually last 30 minutes to an hour. This may seem like a long time but it's actually very short, at least it has some replay value. The other downside is the controls are not as sharp as other FPS games and the guns have a massive amount of recoil.

The graphics in this game are highly detailed and very nice to look at. The game really shines when you jump out of the plane and are looking across the entire battlefield. The environments also have a very good amount of detail put into them. I also like the little spray of blood that comes out when someone is shot, it's not over-dramatic and it's not unnoticeable.

Medal of Honor: Airborne is a fun FPS with good graphics, gameplay, and a good share of entertainment. It's fun to jump out of planes and upgrade your weapons. Even though the game is short it does have some replay value. I recommend this to any FPS fan or owner of a PS3 looking for a cheap game.
