1 Like Max Payne 4 should show Max finally reaching the very bottom of the? rabbit hole. where max fights against the system he used to work for. just imagine Max fighting against crooked cops, dirty federal agents, CIA, and finally getting to the top of the Pyramid fighting the very globalist banker scum and royalty at their heavily armed ranches. Max Payne still has fighting to do. Max Payne 4: The Rise of Max Payne.
The only logical direction for Max Payne 4, is to have a story where Max is hunting down the criminal banker elite taking control of the world who were at the top of the pyramid, ultimately responsible for the death of max family. From Max Payne 1 to 3, Max finds himself getting deeper and deeper down the rabbit hole. What started as just revenge against street thugs and mafia, eventually led him to corporate criminals, corrupt cops, politicians, and than the? true bad guys controlling them. Max Payne 4: The rise of max Payne or Max Payne 4: Liberty or Death.
the game looks good feel good and everybody says its that good but i just cant get my self to commit to finishing it, nothing pulls me to countinue playing it and i have had for a month now and keep putting it aside to play something else, what am i missing here
@steelmouth It's not Max Payne. It has a bland story and bland dialogue. So you're just shooting alot of dudes which we've all done before. It's what I'd call mediocre and forgettable, not bad. It gets better after he goes to Brazil, but not much better. He keeps getting into situations he doesn't belong in, which is typical in film noir, but not done well here--and he does stuff so stupid that you'd think he'd have been killed far before the game began.
this game was not as bad as the review makes it out, i started this game on recruit as i wanted to do a quick run through to get to grips with the game, this provided a challenge, there is suspense in the fight scenes, especially when an alien appears from behind you and tears you a new one, the weapon customization provides flare, the story is from a "we just got here, wtf is going on" point of view so you would expect them to be ignorant to the mechanics of the alien universe. i rate this game quite high and i have not even started the multiplayer yet which is apparently the best bit. i suggest playing this game and making your own mind up.
Between 1:14-2:30 there is only animated film.
I remember a time when games were games. I just played through Top Gun: Hard Lock. It hardly had any film at all in it so it didn't get high scores. It was a great game though.
@bostadskontrakt Be reasonable. outstanding in game animations and cutscenes do no compromise the quality. Max Payne 3 has one of the best story telling styles among today's games in addition to that it has a superb gameplay mechanism as well.
ATTENTION: so after playing this game for about half the day i retract my previous statement. this game is actually pretty badass. a steal @ $20 go buy it

1 Like it looks like rockstar CAN do wrong after all......they blew this game... picked it up yesterday... the iconic bullet time dive is completely worthless after the first chapter...your health goes from full to empty by halfway through the "stand up" animation... a dive and stand up to cover wouldve been great... good thing i didnt get this when it was $60 bucks i wouldve been rally pissed
@Pavlara Shoot-dodging can still save your life, just like it did dozens of times for me. The difference is this time you can actually take cover so you don't have to constantly do it. Its a strategic decision of when to use it in MP3.
@Pavlara They've done all wrong this gen. Only good game they released was Team Bondi's L.A. Noire. I finally broke down and purchased a PS3, love it, but after trying Red Dead Redemption and seeing how bad it was in almost all respects, from graphics, to writing, to acting, I see Max Payne 3 was actually the best Rockstar proper has done this gen and that's sad. If GTA V can recapture the magic of Vice City and San Andreas...and the humor...it will be good, it it follows after Grand Theft Horse/Auto and it's non-driving counterpart MP3, it will suck. Glad you didn't purchase this at full price, I wasn't so lucky.
@Kryptonbornson "I have no idea what you're just talking about but I'm sure it's covered in my next book" ha but seriously I couldnt disagree more. Rdr and gta4 were some of the best games I've played. This ones only redeeming quality is the graphics and decent story. The loading is wacky. Whats the point of the game install if you're gonna load every 3 minutes anyway
@Pavlara @Kryptonbornson You have alot of game playing to do my friend. You have alot of treasures in store for you once you actually get into playing games. Since those games actually suck, but you think they're good, you'll absolutely LOVE most video games.

To many damn cutscenes and repetitive gameplay. Hell, I need a cut scene to climb a damn ladder.
Good thing I brought this for only $20 on black Friday.
Just re-played Max Pain & am currently re-playing Max Pain 2. Can't wait to get part 3!!!
1 Like Just started it, not loving it so far... some horrible enemy bottlenecks, the guns seem to lack impact, health drains quietly without you noticing, lack of cover at times... Max feels very sluggish. Hmm... I'll persist!
@philcelica Well think about it, Rockstar went with a way more realistic feel to it this time round. Of course there isn't always going to be cover, health drains fine, I would hate it if there was a loud noise every time you lost health, and Max is a recovering extreme alchoholic, of course he's sluggish. I've noticed he runs faster and gets to cover quicker etc. Later in the game when he tries to sober up.
1 Like @sendintheclownz Fuck it, I take back everything, this game builds and builds at an incredible pace and by the end is utterly brilliant... Takes time to get the feel, but by the time I hit the airport I was so sold..
@philcelica Trust me, it has it's good parts, but it doesn't ever really get better. You'd be better spending your time with something like The Witcher 2.

@sendintheclownz @philcelica Whoops! I just recommended instead of playing a bad game, play a good one. Aren't many good 3rd person shooters on PC. Future Soldier looks decent, but I haven't really played it. Can't say if it's any better.
Just purchased it, have started playing it and it seems worth it.!!!

2 Like You must be playing mw3 on I little 14 inch screen if you think it's great, chuck it on my 40 inch looks real bad, who wants play a game from developers who have only one focus and that is keeping it a 60 frames whilst sacrificing great lighting and textures, sorry man but u can't compare activision crap to a rockstar
