It may have it's moments but may feel a little repetative at times.

Back to Beam'Em Up, there is not really a story to this game. Your a Space Scientist, piloting a spaceship with the goal of acquiring and collecting alien specimens from various planets and environments.
Gameplay: Yet easy, simple can could feel repetative at times, there are only 16 missions and you'll be going through different planets and enviroments. Each mission will tell you what aliens you to pick up and how many aliens you need from each species; the only controls you'll be using is the left analog stick to move your spaceship. And holding the X button to suck up aliens to your ship, if you move around alot you won't be able to Beam'em up.
You also have to watch out for missles and various beams from enemies, because this game will require to think how quickly you need to move and avoid attacks from aliens. And also each mission will have medals on the fastest time it will take you to finish the mission.
Graphics and Sound: It's nice to see 1950's coloured style graphics which do look stunning and detailed for each of the planets and enviroments you'll play through. It is a 2D game after all it could have been a good game on the Sega Mega Drive or the Super Nintendo back in the 90's.
But it could have also appearerd on the Net Yaroze if the PS1 was still around, which were only on the Official UK Playstation Magazine which came with a demo. There isn't esle much to say on it's colourful graphics which do also have a watercolour effect from them, you'd be also surprised how much MB it will take for your PS3 or PSP which is only 16MB which is small and room for other games on your system too.
There's only sound effects in Beam'em Up which you'll hearing alot of zaps, booms and explosions, music is a mix in a bag but also not much esle to say on that one.
Overall: If you ask me this would like better on Newgrounds or possibly the IPhone/IPad since the gameplay controls are easy and simple to get around. If you are looking for a simple game for a short journey or own a PSP Go I would suggest it but may be a really short game that could take you a day to beat.
So it is worth your £2.49 on getting this? it would depend on what games your into for the PS Minis games, but if it appears to free again on First Play or you find a code on it, it's worth looking into because you might feel a little ripped off.
