So it really comes down to what you expect to get out of a $50 investment in a PC game. Everything about this game is absolutely top quality: in my testing I didn't spot any bugs or compatibility problems, it runs silky smooth, and even the packaging is slick and well-designed. Nowadays, when a 90-minute movie and snacks can run you nearly $20 bucks, the eight hours or more of top-notch gameplay that Payne serves up is starting to look like a bargain. The action in Max Payne 2 is as adrenaline-pumping as anything you'd see on the silver screen, and you're in control. Or dangerously close to spiraling out of control, as Max often is. Despite the length, this is top-quality entertainment.
