The visuals for Crysis 2 are absolutely amazing and are the best visuals I have seen on the 360 this year so far, and it was a nice site for sore eye's cause I have not played a visually stunning game since last year with game's like Mass Effect 2, RDR, Alan Wake and Mafia 2 and those game's had great visuals and now a long with Crysis 2 and the fact that I never played nor seen the visuals of the first Crysis so I can't say if they were improvements or not but still the graphics are amazing in Crysis 2, The detail to all the environments and the character's are just amazing on how great and life like they were I personally can not get over amazing the environments are, and I mention the detail to the character's looked great it was like, you know what I'm just going not to compare the details of the character's in this game with other's cause they are just simply amazing. Now the only thing mention about the visuals in the visually stunning game and that despite the great looking visuals the game did have some minor bugs and frame rate issue in some parts of the game but even though it had those minor issues, but for stunning visuals and some minor issues this game is still the best looking game on the 360 this year.
Now the audio for Crysis 2 is just simply amazing, from the amazing sound track and the great voice work and it made this game that much better and the sound to the weapons are great as well and I personally just loved the audio. The weapons sound just right to me it almost had the same sound as the Battlefield: Bad company series but that is just me and I'm sure you as the reader may feel the same way or you may feel differently, but to me it just sounded a little similar to the great surround-sound from the Bad Company series which was great. The voice work was pretty great and the all the voice actor's and actress's sounded great and they all made me feel for their respected character's. Now the sound track to this game was just amazing to me I loved it and it went and did well with the atmosphere and I believe the sound track was composed by the guy that did the music for The Black Swan movie I think, well I think he composed music for the Black Swan movie, but who care's the sound track was great. So from the sound f/x, the voice work and the sound track made the audio for Crysis 2 amazing.
I'll talk about the game-play in two part I'll start with the single player first and the multi-player second it's just simpler to do.
The single player in Crysis 2 is awesome and does have it's technical flaw's but it did not and should not render the fun and challenging campaign and I will point out on that if you did not play the first one that's ok cause I did not either and the first few hour's of the game I was a little confused because at the beginning of the game it show's you coming to New York City with some marine's and then you come under attack from something that you are not quite sure what it is and then you get saved by some guy named prophet in nano suit and then you wake up and noticed that he gave the nano suit to you so you can finish what he was set out to do and that is to stop an alien invasion. So basically you start this game as a new main character named Alcatraz which for you and I that have not played the original make's the story a little fresh and new for most of us but this game continue's from where the last left off and you realize that after about 2 or 3 hours in to the campaign and as the story unfold's in this great 10 or so hours of single player action you soon realize that you are more than just a plain super soldier you are also a secret weapon and I'll leave it at that. Now for some of the flaw's that I mention and they are the fact that this game is so visually beautiful it suffered from some bugs and bad A.I and I was a little disappointed in that because of when I heard the A.I was so great in the first one and that was one of few problem's I had with it and some of the other's were that this game also had some minor bugs and glitch's and again it still did not render the game-play. But their were a lot of things that did well like even though your a super soldier some of the friendly A.I are not that useless they do give you a hand and so your not alone like most shooter's where you and only you take on the bad guy's and save the world but the friendly A.I in this game actually do some damage and that is one of the things I really liked about this game cause it reminded me of the A.I. from the first 2 maybe 3 Halo's where they did some thing and once again that is a great thing and I personally think this is the best and lengthy single player campaign I have played since since the first 2 halo's and that I personally enjoyed. So in short the single player is the best I have played in a long time and is amazing.
The multi-player for Crysis 2 is pretty good but it remind's of a mix between Call of duty 4: Modern Warfare and Halo 3 which is a good thing for most people and I thought the mix of the 2 was pretty good but for me was not my cup of tea but that is just me so basically the multi-player has that feel of you really can't have fun with this game unless you are playing with friends and once again cause the multi-player isn't for me that does not mean it's not for you the player, cause if you like COD 4:MW or you like Halo 3 this game should be right down your ally and the little that I played of the multi-player it is fun and is a great mix. So I'll mention that in this game you do have some kill streak rewards and they're similar to COD 4:MW kill streak's and now I'll talk about the game mode's that this great game has and they are Instant action which is your basic free-for-all, Team Instant action which is basically your standard style of team death-match, Crash Site which is a game mode where you gotta capture energy from downed alien pods while preventing the enemy from taking it from your team and prevent them from doing the same, Assault which is a mode of nano-suit operative's must down load data from terminal's that are defended from by black-ops soldier's and this is a single life mode with no ability to respawn, Capture the Relay is basically the same thing as capture the flag but with relay station's and the last mode is Extraction and that is where you have to extract nanosuit-enhancing alien bio-ticks from defending location's so basically capture the most to win. So the multi-player has something for everyone and make it a great and fun experience.
Well the overall point for Crysis 2 is that this game as an excellent campaign with great audio and a fun multi-player and the multi-player has something for everyone and this game as a great game-play blend between CoD 4:MW and the Halo series and which it works well together. So basically this game is worth the $60 dollar price tag and it one of the best shooter's of the year so far and it will not hurt to at least try this game out so rent it if you are not sure but this game is absolutely worth owning. So keep up the great work Crytek.
