Combat, with a variety of skills and weapons that allow for you to pick and choose your favorite assault methods. Do you like close up? Do you like far away? Are you best with mobile assault or do you prefer to bunker down? They're all there.
Interaction, with a vast number of different characters that involve you in their worlds and then, depending on your actions, can show up again and again and again throughout the story. Do you want to romance your subordinate or have an interlude with the sexy alien? Are you interested in determining the source behind a drug cartel? Do you want to chase down the mysteries driving an entire alien civilization? or two? Yep, got that, too.
Value, from a long central campaign and large number of side quests but also from quite a lot of replayability. Whether you do all the quests, every time, or you just do some, you can still mix it up because you don't always have to choose the same options. Play the game as a jerk, as an angel, or some mix of both, but each time it will get you a different set of end responses.
The only down-side to the game is that combat does become somewhat repetitive. By the time the game is over, even on a high difficulty level, you're looking at your enemies and laughing. Regardless, however, it's a great deal of fun!
