Control Commander Shepard and try to defend the galaxy from a past threat

User Rating: 8.5 | Mass Effect PC
Mass Effect is perhaps one of the best games out there. In this game control Commander Shepard, and with a squad of people (including humans and aliens) you must try to uncover a secret plot of the past for destroy the actual civilization.

Plot: Great, one of the most elaborated plots out there. The game starts with a normal mission for an alien inspect Shepard and promote the commander for a special squad called Spectre but after they land on a human colony things don't look so good. The commander along with the alien and a small squad must save the human colony and discover what happened there. After that, the plot becomes better and better.

Sound: I don't know, I have heard people complain of the male Shepard voice but I think the Voice Actor did a good job, also Jennifer Hale did a good work with female Shepard. The other voices are also great and the music is fantastic, especially when you want to travel to another planet.

Graphics: Those graphics are great but not the best although graphics aren't what make the games isn't? It would get a better score if they didn't recycled some stuff but I'll put that later

Gameplay: I think this is one of the lowest part of the game. The actual shooting is good and what makes it great is that you can make the decisions when Shepard talks but it tends to get boring if you try to do the sidequests. Go to X place by using an armored car called Mako, rescue, kill or whatever and then try to find some stuff on the planet and then leave. If they added more variety then I think it would be great. Also, I think the inventory system was bad but it isn't impossible to use.

Enjoyment: If you go by the main story I think it only adds like 10-15 hours at the most and I found that disappointing because being the game so good and it is pretty short in my opinion. You can add like 5 hours more with the sidequests but as I said, it gets boring after a while. Oh, and you can pursue a relationship with three members of the crew (actually two depending on the gender of Shepard) and it gets good and funny sometimes, especially if you want to try a love triangle.

Overall: Mass Effect is a must if you like rpg and shooters. Sadly, the pc version is plagued with alot of bugs and it tends to annoys alot but after that the game is great. If they worked moreon the gameplay, especially the sidequests, and checked the bugs then this game would have scored a perfect score. I hope that Bioware fixes the mistakes they did on the second game of this great franchise.
