You Need to Play This!

User Rating: 9.5 | Mass Effect 3 X360
Where to begin?! This is by far the best game that BioWare has put out as far as the Mass Effect series goes. I was a little skeptical about their multiplayer since the other Mass Effect games were only single-player (not even co-op). After playing the multi-player, I am hooked on it as it is probably one of my favorites if not my favorite.

First, I thought BioWare would be distracted with the multi-player, so I figured the story line in the game would not be as good. I couldn't have been more wrong. The story telling is the best in series, and the action picks up where it left off. The bosses are well done and even some foot soldiers (especially in Cerberus) make for quite the challenge.

Second, I love the new multi-player. It's similar to "Terrorist Hunt" in the Rainbow Six: Vegas games. You can choose a difficulty setting, a map you like to play on, a certain enemy that you like to play against, and whether or not you want to play in public or private match. You have packs within the game you can buy to get missiles, weapon power ups, biotic power ups, and the like. Even the maps that are in multi-player are in the campaign as well as side missions.

Third, I love that you can pick up a new weapon, beat a mission, run to the Citadel, and experience the weapon and whether you like it or not before using it in a mission because you can't change weapons while in a mission until you reach a weapon bench (those don't come into play very often).

Even with all of the good stuff in the game, there are some minor drawbacks. Although I love the multi-player, it does get pretty monotonous. After playing multi-player for a few hours, you figure out what part of the mission comes next. I wish BioWare would put the waves on "shuffle" rather than finish a ten-wave mission, go to the lobby, and repeat the same thing you just did before going to the lobby. I also wish they would come up with a few other games like Capture the Flag, Team Deathmatch, anything against other gamers. They could incorporate any of those games, but modernize them to fit Mass Effect 3. I'm not saying it should be like Battefield or Call of Duty, but imagine what it would be like facing each other with Carnifex's, Mattocks, or Vipers. Imagine playing Capture the Flag while having a class that uses Tactical Cloak. It would ba amazing!

With all this said, Mass Effect 3 doesn't quite earn a 10 from me, but I wish I could go by tenths increments because the game is better than a 9.5. You should play both game styles of Mass Effect 3, and is definitely worth the money. Call of Duty and Battlefield gamers, you don't actually have to play the RPG version, you can play the game with a pre-destined plot line as well. Check it out!
