The grand finale to Shepard's tale that gives you what you have been expecting.. and a lot more.

User Rating: 9.5 | Mass Effect 3 PS3
Earth is under attack, with Reapers on their way to wipe out all life on this speck of a planet it's up to you, Commander Shepard to get help. The game starts with a bang setting you off this planet to fetch help from all the allies you have made over the past two games. Only your allies aren't doing too well either. You soon learn that the entire galaxy is at war from these dreadful and seemingly invincible species whose sole purpose is to eradicate sentient life in this galaxy.

With the concept rebirth being at the core of the game, it hints at how this galaxy has an endless circle of life in which species evolve from dominating their own planets, exploring new ones, waging war over others, to reaching the pinnacle of their technological and cultural state.. to finally being purged to extinction. Reapers play an important role in this. They appear during the end of such a cycle to annihilate the then prominent species in order to maintain balance this circle of life. Unluckily for them, this time they face a Human who is determined to put and end to them.

This time the game focuses more on diplomatic ties between different races, on how you manage stressful situations with the goal to unite all the prominent races in a battle against the Reapers all before they devour our beloved planet.
Famous issues like the Krogan's Genophage, the war between the Geth and the Quarians to name a few are finally concluded in this chapter. Decisions that you have taken from the past games tend to change the game dynamics to a good extend. Although most of your decisions taken don't really affect the ending (disappointing, I know..) the game however does a good job of balancing moral choices you have made in the past and the present to decide the fate of an entire species as a total.

The game play mechanics have changed a little moving it more towards the cover shooter than a simple RPG. This change is rather welcoming.
The weapons and power ups haven't changed a lot from the previous installment. You still gain XP points and use them to power up your character. This time however, for every mission your team members go on, they gain power ups that you can use to improve their skill level. This proves useful in combat where they assist you dearly.
Enemies are many in number with a wide variety ranging from simple troopers to monstrous bruits that charge at you with raging might. Side missions are present that gel in perfectly with the main story line. The more you indulge, the more you feel yourself drawn into this universe.
Familiar faces return with a friendly new set that makes this journey one remarkable experience.

Visually pleasing with improved graphics and new enchanting sights all throughout the Milky way Galaxy, the artwork is truly top notch. While playing, you will find yourself stopping to take a moment or two to marvel at these sights presented in front of you, be it a planet under attack, an old Asari temple, the sandy shores of Mars or the streets of London.

If fighting against all odds to save practically all life in our galaxy and forging new alliances to bring down an alien species that cannot be reasoned with and simply wants to destroy everything is your muffin.. then Mass Effect 3 is one cake you should not miss out on.
