I first have to say wow the ending the ending. That being said I am one of the few "fans" of this series that think that it has been getting worse at the sequels have gone on. In the beginning you had more control on the weapons and armor and that has been taken away from you and the gameplay is pretty much the same as it has been in the beginning.
The first thing I have to say about this game is it looks wonderful. Graphics are beautiful sound is not bad and the gameplay has its moments. If you have not played this game before I would suggest picking up the first one and playing it to see if this is your cup of tea. Yes there are many talking parts where you are sitting there holding your controller. Yes there are also the missions where you have to take something to someone. That is a staple of most RPG'S and it seems to have made its way to this one in full force.
One thing they have changed is you get to chose your weapon in the beginning and once you do thats it you are locked into that weapon until the end. Missions after awhile become the same things over and over again. Not much replay ability in this game. I also seemed to think that this game was shorter then the original. Gameplay is choppy because there are times when you are taking fire and cannot move or are stuck. The basic premise in firefights is to take cover. So you press your button and the game makes you take cover when you really wanted to run. You also can be pressing your button and it will not take cover and you will get hit. Nothing worse then being in a firefight and pressing buttons and you are covering and not firing or its not taking cover. They should have taken care of that but seeing as how this is the last one no need to.
In games like this I have found it suffers from what most games like this do. Its very easy at parts and then it gets way too hard. It uses the simple technique of overloading you with too many enemies. After awhile it becomes boring because again not much difference in the missions. It basically becomes a button masher except mashing the buttons sometimes hurts you and not helps. Now a lot has been talked about the ending or to me lack thereof. There is not end boss nothing spectacualr about the ending of this game. You are in a mission do some things and its over. No excitement nothing. Its a very poor ending to a trilogy. The story is ok but honestly I forgot about what the whole war was about lol.
Overall its not a bad game but I cannot recommend it if you have never played mass effect before. This is definitely a game for people who want to complete to series but if you have never played one before this is not the game for you. I would say wait for the price to go down and get it at a cheaper price because there is nothing here for you to run out and get.
