The ending is worse than bad. It destroys every reason to even replay ME 1 and 2. The game is a 9.5 up until the last 10 minutes of the game. In a word, the ending is sadistic. The choices you make, the hundreds of hours you may have spent on the playing a character all the way through the three games, it's all meaningless in the end. EA and Bioware have a serious problem on their hands. The 8+ reviews they've gotten here are not reflective of the ruionous ending and are instead a reflection of folks feeling they need to be 'fair' because the rest of the game is so good. And it is good. Like I said, the game is a 9.5 until the end. But, there is not a negative number low enough to properly reflect the willful evil inflicted on you which is the ending; this is why I'm giving a '2' rating - it is sincerely not worth your time or money. Bioware has committed an emotional crime. Time will tell if they fix it with a sizable patch or DLC with proper endings. If they don't correct it, I am done with all Bioware and EA games forever more - I'm serious. Because I'm a whiney fanboi? No, because I have a right to walk away from an emotionally abusive relationship.
