I romanced Tali and I didn't like the end where she just walks out and pretend nothing happens. lol don't you care what happens to Shepard??

Hahah yeah, they just all walk out and stare off like everythings ok, despite the fact they have no idea what happened to earth or the human fleet or shepard x_x

Anyone else notice that when the crucible opened it looked like a giant microphone?

What the Crucible should have done was weaken the Reapers barrier shields so that the fight was winnable but would be very bloody. And then it would all depend on war resources what the result would be. See, that was the most obvious conclusion and it would have been 100x better then what we got, or even the dark matter option

with maybe some command decisions thrown in during the final cut scenes of the battle(to keep the player involved) that may end up hurting/helping certain races. Kind of like the "save the Council/focus all fire on Sovereign" choice from Mass Effect 1, but in a much broader military sense

I posted a similar idea in this thread, but I cut out the Crucible entirely because I thought the idea was stupid.

I like the idea of the crucible, juts not how it was implemented. It would make sense for the civilizations that came before to try and create some kind of weapons to help stop the reapers. I like the idea of it being a shield neutralizer the best. It just seems to be the best option in terms of what the hell every other civilization was doing when the reapers showed up. I mean it feels like a cop out if you have this giant space laser thing that can kill all reapers, but if every civilization in the galaxy tried and figure out a way to bypass the reapers shields, while also passing the plans down the line to future civilizations to improve upon if it didn't work, it just seems like a much better way for the the whole crucible thing to be handled. Plus you get to actually use your war assets and the decisions you made in the past could also have an effect on the true battle with the reapers.

They're great ideas. Gosh damn it. If a couple of us can spend one lousy day coming up with all of this, imagine what could have been done in an actual 5 year discussion about how to end this thing?

Yeah I didnt mind that the crucible was explained as a project that has been systematically kept safe kinda like a "time capsule" kind of idea. If it just came out of thing air I would have been really frickin annoyed.

    ^(pointing towards N's idea)

I like that, except I think the Collector Station would be a bad choice to base that one, given that every single person in the games except TIM tells you not to do it. Which is why I think the Crucible as I state it would be is fine. Its not a DEM, its just the Protheans getting very close to weakening the Reapers. Not an out-right win! Because without enough military support you can still lose to the Reapers

I think the Crucible was little more than a shoddy plot device. It's like you finally get the ring to Mordor and Gandalf is all "Oh I forgot to mention there's this spell I learned a long time ago that will completely destroy Sauron and all of his minions." I hate stuff like that.

I'm for the state of the Collector Base being a factor because it challenges the player's morality. Kind of the difference between doing the right thing for the wrong reasons and doing the wrong thing for the right reasons. But I suppose you could swap the options if you like. I like my way =P

Thats actually a really good idea Juma, I love it. It can then flash to your squaddies doing batle on earth in different parts of London. Jack with her kids, Samara on the front line with other commandos, Wrex and Grunt yelling "I AM KROGAN", Miranda doing whatever it is shes doing, along with Zaeed and Kasumi on the Crucibl working with the rachni. You thn see the ones you chose to come with you get picked up by the Normandy, or something.

More like how it was in ME2, every little bit you progress, you saw how your squad was doing, I would've loved to see that. I know it's more difficult, but it's the last game you know? you think they would've put more time to the end, especially given how everything else was done flawlessly(except reaper fight).

Stink, the worst part is I just imagined what you said in a mental cinematic and it was glorious.

The thing is, I normally agree that these dumb plot devices like "OH I HAD THIS SPELL THE WHOLE TIME" annoy me too. I think of the Dalek episode in the first new Dr. Who season where he just puts together an anti-dalek device and you're just saying "oh..ok, i guess we could just kill them like that then."

However, the fact that the it was a history of races working on it over thousands of years made me feel a bit better. It didnt take away the whole blow though, I'll give you that. Still...its hard to imagine how they were going to get out of the situation entirely

I think what just sucks, is not even that everything you did in the past two games gets shot down, but the 34 hours and 50 minutes I septn prior to the ending were a waste too. Why did Mordin have to die to cure the genophage? in the end, all these Krogan are stranded, the same goes for virtually every other alien racethat helped us. It was all moot in the end and that just has to piss you off.

Sure there are dire endings, but how can you have an ending that renders everything you've done pointless? For some it's 90 hours, but I played ME1 twice and was playing ME2 shortly before this one. it's literally over 100 hours of my time devoted for that ending, its depressing.

Yeah, plus Im playing ME 1 again and I almost feel like its wasting my time. Although, I just noticed how much I miss being able to hit A on companions and listening to them comment on the areas.

well casey hudson was recently quoted as saying they were making the story up as they went along. but on the contrary Drew said he had the story for trilogy planned out before he left. either way you look at it, this just all around sucks. and was a stupid move on biowares part.

I'd be super excited if you could find some evidence of that quote...I hadnt heard it before. Obviously, if theres some argument over whether or not this was in the works for a long time, this difference totally proves it.
