does Mass Effect 2 carry over if you haven't finished new game plus?

I beat Mass Effect 2 and started a new game plus. I didn't get very far, though. If I import my character, will I be importing the completed character, or the barely started new game plus character? Thanks.

You can only import characters that have a savegame where they have completed the storyline. If you start a new game plus, it doesn't have a completed storyline, so you cannot import from that one.
