Do new games/ new game plus "remember" how many mp characters i promoted?

If i start a new game, import a new me2 save, or start a new game plus, will i have the same war asset value across the board for the multiplayer characters i have promoted? Or does it only count how many i promoted after i've created a new game?

When you start a new game/new game+ you will have the same war assest value ( i.e N7 Special Ops Team) across the board for all the previous multiplayer characters you have promoted. Even if they were promoted before you created a new game.

jim84 is correct: any new game will carry over the War Asset created through multiplayer promotions, whether you start a complete new game, a new game plus, or if you import a different ME2 save file.
