Dating?

Can you be a lesbian in this version of mass effect or do you have to be straight?

Some of these answers are sort of off the original question's topic.

Specialist Traynor can ONLY be romanced as a female. Cortez the pilot can ONLY be romanced as a male. The news reporter whose name escapes me can ONLY be romanced as a male. Tali can ONLY be romanced as a male. Garrus can ONLY be romanced as a female. Ashley and Kaiden can be romanced regardless of gender. Liara can be romanced regardless of gender (though that's nothing new).

I'm not sure about Miranda. My guess is that you have to be male since you can't romance her as a female in ME2. And, as far as I'm aware, you can't romance her in ME3 unless you romanced her in ME2.

To be honest, Kaiden took me by surprise. He was definitely not attracted to men in ME1 and then he suddenly started hitting on me i ME3 and I was like "Woah! What!?" They obviously made Kaiden and Ashley bi to satisfy people's demands for equality.

The lesbian love interest is traynor, your secretary. the male same-sex love interest is cortez, your shuttle pilot. don't think vega is a romance option, just a buddy - or he was to my female Shepard. you can romance tali or Garrus if you romanced them in 2, kaidan or ashley if you romanced them in 1, or liara if she's your old flame. if you romanced kelly in 2, she turns up but isn't romanceable i think. also with miranda - you get dialogue but no 'relations' cos she isn't on the normandy. if you romanced someone else in 2 and want to get back to your old lover, you got some explaining to do, lucy!

if you romanced james in me 2..there is dialog about it in me 3.Fem shep gets all jealous and huffy and sits on her bed and watches interplanetary soap operas and has to listen to her love interest from me 1 give her the I told you so treatment.Actually Liara is the only one who gets huffy if she finds out you been dating behind her back

Liara and Kaidan/Ashley are available regardless of your ME1 decisions (unless the one you want to romance is dead). Miranda, Jack and Kelly are supposedly possible to romance if you did in ME2, but I haven't tried any of them yet, as that's only a quick reunion and that's all.
