Exellent game, great depth of content, a worthy contender for game of the year

User Rating: 9.5 | Mass Effect 2 (French) PS3
ME2 is, as expected, a great game. There's very little not to like. Graphics are great, audio is great, content/story is great, depth and scope are both fantastic. Gameplay (mainly the control wheels and action d-pad keys) can be a bit unwieldy, but it's not a big problem.

The game moves along at a grand pace, with the player in full control of combat and non-combat segments. Some weapons do seem underpowered at times, but it doesn't detract from the quality of combat.

Technically, the game performs beautifully. 20 hours in, no glitches or freezes, just a couple of rendering flaws that allowed enemies to get trapped in the environment. Not a big deal.

The main selling point of this game is its originality and depth. It's an awesome achievement, with incredible, highly intelligent detail in terms of who/what/how/why for virtually every character, item and element in the game. It's a cohesive world that makes sense on a huge scale, and keeps you thrilled as you embark on each new mission or assignment.

Character customization is good overall, with outstanding detailed graphics and performance specs related to custom character look and integrity. The dialogue options are very good throughout the game, and unfold to present hundreds, if not thousands, of different gameplay outcomes.

I could go on, but no need. So much has been said already. It's a flat out great game, one of the top ten titles released in the past couple years. If you like the RPG genre, it's a must have title.

Hats off to EA and Bioware for this achievement.
