It goes without saying that Capcom is one of the best fighting game creators, I mean let's face it which one of us didn't play Marvel vs Capcom 2 on PS2 and absolutely love it, or Street Fighter IV! Marvel vs Capcom 3 however is…….well it just doesn't feel finished really.
Let's start with its best bits though, the graphics for MvC 3 are awesome, I love the cell shaded affect and the characters as well as the backgrounds look great. The super specials also look insanely cool and I just couldn't help doing them the moment I was able to in a fight! The controls are really responsive as well which not only helps the visuals but the whole gaming experience seem a lot more fluid, although there is some lag with the online. The game's also got a good selection of characters, although nowhere near as many as its predecessor and to be honest some of the choices are a little random, take M.O.D.O.K for example…..I mean what the hell lol I much rather have had them put in Venom or Carnage or Virgil (from DMC) as characters. Which brings me to another thing which bugs me about this game, sure Capcom have already released 1 or 2 DLCs which include new characters but why do we have to pay extra for content which should be included in the game anyway! Not to mention that they are probably going to make some sort of 'super' MvC 3 which will include all these extra characters. It's just really annoying when companies do this just to make an extra couple of quid and only make a game half as good as it could have been in the process. Bring back the days when you could unlock every character just by completing the arcade mode or completing it in a certain way!!
Unfortunately though that isn't even the worst part about this game, the worst part has to be the single player and its story. The offline modes are really basic (literally as if they just took it out of a previous MvC game and thought it that would be good enough), lacking any real development and as for the story……well let's just say that we know that the two worlds are coming together but as to how or why you're just going to have to use your imagination. Mission mode is also a serious let down, not only because I personally hate modes like that but also because it doesn't show you what the completed move is meant to look like or give you any training on how to accomplish it.
To sum up I would wait until this game is a Platinum selling for £20 to buy this game unless you're a hardcore Marvel and Capcom fan who can looks past the seriously lacking single player. If you want a fighting game just to have fights online with other people on then this is a good game to choose but if you want more to your fighting experience then pick something else.

Though it's not quite as awesome as it's precursor, MVC3 still manages to be quite a fun time.

Great Gameplay, But not too much else.

Lacking content and modes make the single player experience dull. Only good to play with friends or in tourneys.
