Upgraded graphics and gameplay, with downgraded controls

As an enthusiast of the franchise, I'm a little disappointed on the new series of Marvel Vs. Capcom. First, the upside. New characters and features will pull you into the game, as you explore new moves and combos the series offer. As the moment you start the game, you are given an option to select what mode you play which is normal or simple. Normal mode simply let's you have the freedom to do what the hell ever you want. It let's you combine different moves with no constraint, simply put for veteran or experienced players. Simple mode let's you do combinations of moves at ease. For instance, if you wanted to do a quick air combo, the simple mash square, triangle, circle well let you perform an eight hit combo.
Another is the shaded graphics the game delivered, I'm simply lost during the game since the environment blends right in with the characters. It's simply outstanding with the new graphics upgraded series went through, as I am lost at the moment and try to find my character as I do that air combo move. Everything blends in...
In addition, I love the series added a new feature that lets you change character as you perform combos while in air. It's another great addition to the series.
Now the cons. So the series really dumbed it down to the point where you really have four sets of actions buttons. Low, medium, high and special attack. The moment I played this game, I was lost. What happened to the controls?! It took about 20 to 30 minutes to finally realize that the controls that I used to love from the beginning to Marvel vs. Capcom 2 has been complete revamped! It wasn't a hassle, but it certainly put me off track, for an avid fan of the series. There was 6, now there's 4!
Overall, with the new characters, features and graphics Marvel vs. Capcom 3 offers, it looks promising . However, for players who's following the series for a long time will find Marvel vs. Capcom 3 a whole new different Island.
