This game isn´t that bad for a first try. Altough its a bid inspid for a fighting game, in comparison to others out there during its time period of release. Altough it has its improvements since the first installement or spiritual predecessor "Xmen: Children of the Atom". Plus its not all just Xmen characters but a diverse (although not many) character selection of the Marvel Universe. So the main problem with the game is its insipid gameplay and the lack of characters. Which of these were corrected in the "Xmen vs Street Fighter" games. All in all the game is okay graphically, cuase it doesn´t go 3D becuase its trying to indulge the fans call for comic characters in game consoles. The controls are insipid and simple but aren´t broken so you have a regular control over your characters. The sound is normal and not breathtaking... Actually its more of a 2D fighting game that could have excel in the SNES... but actually its alright for the PS platforms but their is really no reason to go back after you have won it once.
An indulgence for the comic fans and a "try once" type of game for avid fighting games or overall players of video games. Definitly a fan´s game and a rent it or borrow it from a friend for other type of game players.
