Marvel Nemesis: Rise of the Imperfects User Review
- Difficulty:
- Just Right
- Time Spent:
- 20 to 40 Hours
- The Bottom Line:
- "Amazing"
One of the problems of "Marvel Nemesis" is the apparent lack of focus. The game does not decide whether to be an action game like "walk and destroy what he sees ahead" or a title fight, like most free.
All the way, the story mode needs to be thrown to release hidden characters and other functions. This mode is composed of small missions, they have to meet certain objectives such as destroying all enemies or reach a specific location. As usual, the first scenes serve as a tutorial that shows how the controls work.
But soon one realizes that the game has only a few movements, like combos, jumping, shooting and defense. These actions can be taken with the particular button pressed, resulting in a more powerful version of the same, but with auxiliary power consumption. Moreover, there is a special button to use mobility as the flight or teleportation Tempest of Wink.
Despite its simplicity, it is possible to make some complex combos, as a string of hits that makes the opponent fly and chase him into the air to hit some more. The computer shows some of these abilities, but in practice it is a little difficult to implement them on time. Using the pitch especially when the opponent's energy is in the danger zone, you can "finish" the enemy, performing a sequence of mercy.
There is an exchange system and the target hits your character on anyone in front. But sometimes, the opponent can deflect, leaving spaces to suffer counterattacks. In addition to punches and shots, one of the good ideas of the game is to have an environment full of interactive objects like explosive barrels, buckets and even cars (the senario is a weapon). Of course, not all characters can lift very heavy objects. This is exclusive of the strongest, as the Thing.
The movements of all the characters are basically the same, but each has at least one unique ability, such as Spider-Man's webs, which can pick up objects at a distance, or knives Elektra. In all, nearly 20 characters, including the infamous Venom, Magneto, Iron Man, Storm, Daredevil and of course, Wolverine. The Imperfects, a group of villains created for the game, are led by Niles Van Roekel.
With such famous characters, the attention of the art team was focused on the modeling of the characters. In fact, both the heroes of the Imperfects Marvel as the details and textures are quite convincing. The general mood of the game's comic scenes with high contrast. The Thing, for example, looks pretty solid, while Wolverine is very close versions of the graphic novel. The scenes non-interactive use of various techniques for video, all with high production value.
"Marvel Nemesis: Rise of the Imperfects" hits in the details as the story and screenplay, besides having a high production value, with good non-interactive scenes and great character design.
