The game is somewhat fine...all is well about half way thru the game, then things start falling apart...

Hmm....what drew me to this game was the chlling storyline and delightful graphics (on the back of the gamebox, of course...well, they were quite small, and when they are small, they do seem quite pretty!!!)

Like I said, the story line was absolutley good...which blends in superbly with the way the game operates in terms of interacting with differing environments....the way the backgrounds are rendered, the eerie music and sound effects, the way the enemies come after you.....all good for a nice game....

However....and its a big however.....despite the good points of this old skool PS horror flick.....there are major flaws in the game....the first thing is the graphics.....the characters seem to be produced via those dot matrix printers that do little justice to the dialogues and speeches....there is no facial movment during speech (like good old Shadowman) and the characters seem to have their fists clenched all the time (which was typical of PS era games, though it was not upto the calibre of Soul Reaver....RELEASED A YEAR EARLIER!!!) the only thing which kept me glued to the screeen was the highly rendered backgrounds....

Another bad thiong about the game is the comabt system....ture, you do get a few devastating weapons throughout the game....but the majority of the time its just a pathetic gun (like those ones you used to get form the corner shop when you were little) that fires little pellets....and yes.....obviously do little damage to your zombie chums on board the space station....AND ONCE YOU HAVE FLOORED THE DODGEY DUDES....THEY GET BACK UP AGAIN WHEN YOU WALK PAST THEM A FEW MINUTES LATER (like when you ahve to collect an item or re-visit a room).....talk about makind friends in sapce!!!!!

And now...the wierdest thing about this game which put me right off...the navigation map.....whereas games like Resident Evil 3 and Alone in the Dark (I know, I reviewed it bad, but the map helped a lot in this game) showed your exact or rough location in a room or hall way shown on a map....all this was was a replica of a Network Rail map, with pretty dots and lines to show you how to get to one place or another....but it would have been nice to have an arrow for each character to show where you are standing...or getting lost...or getting pounded by the ever-so kind zombie or space creature.....

Finally...another item I would like to add to this assortment of allsorts (not the Bassett's sweets by the way) is the characters themselves.....there comes a point in the game where all of them are released from their locked rooms (yeas, you have to spend about 30-40% of the game trying to figure out how to escape the sweet (but lonesome) serenity of your locked room, into the horrifyingly haughty realms of the stashed out space station.....but...and again its a big but....if one character crosses the path on the other, its game over (an infection spread sort of thing)....as if the jiving zombies and ordanace survey map were not annoying enough!!!!

Its such a shame that the story line was chilling, combied with the sound effects and music.....I was using a wlkthrough after 10% of the game was done......after the guys were let loose in the station, I began to lose my tether at the constant cuddling by the zombies....I know, not the sort of people to send a valentines card to.....
