Maybe the only Mario themed sports game that isn't screwed up in tedious and repetativeness terms.
Whats fun, exciting and slightly aggravating is the special concept mario adopts in every sport-minded game which is the "special" developers assign to every character. Because each character is unique in it's own right, be it boo or birdo, each character also has a different ability which to some extent can render the game unbalanced or uneven at some time. Whats cool about this game, is the fact that you have a fully customizable team that can include ttropical ree-creatures, dinosours and ghosts.
Admittingly, the presentation is traditional baseball at it's core but the cartoony theme and styled gameplay makes it seem a little off. If you're not a baseball fan, that's ok. I most certainly am not but i still found this game exciting, enticing and most importantly fun. In multi-player aspects, the game manages a smooth beat and is even greater than single-player in many respects. All in all, baseball and soccer are Mario sport's keys, it's refreshing to see a sport's game that hasn't been completely screwed up.
