Good, but pales in comparison to the later games by too much.
The Bad: Beach Volleyball SUCKS, "Aww, I lost" **** at the end of minigames, too many flaws.
Full Review: Mario's first party on the GameCube was not as good as it could have been. There were FAR too many flaws to the game. For instance, what is with the "Aww, I lost" **** drowning out the winner at the end of a minigame? Beats me. Why are the boards so ugly? I dunno. And why on earth is beach volleyball so crap, with only 5 points to win on a regular ball? You guessed it, I have no idea! But enough with the negativity. When you look past all that (though, granted, it's a bit hard) there are plenty of enjoyable games and the rest of the Extras Zone makes up for it. The lottery is great. Shame it wasn't continued. so though there are too many flaws, if you look past them, it's fun.
