Better graphics, sound, Circuits, characters, Items (aswell as the addition of Special Powers) and more modes make this game a classic.

There are 4 cups, with 4 races each, and an all cup race featuring all 16 courses. you can play them all on 50, 100 and 150cc, before you unlock Mirror Mode, which is 150cc on steriods, as all of the courses are flipped.

Mirror Mode makes it so that you cant predict whats coming next, you have to react to it. IT puts a lot of skill on the drivers.

Its fun to be able to drive and hav a friend worry about the combat. the combat guy deals with items, stealing and blocking them, taunting and adjusting the direction their going.

Teamwork is essential. Without it, you cannot win.

I have not even gotten into the battling, or racing your ghost and trying to beat your best time. All of those are amazing additions to a game that truly is a huge improvement on the original
