After reading every review on this game, including the 7.9's ign and gamespot gave, i'm still very dissapointed. Nintendo had a chance to make a triple A title here, but instead made a mediocore one. No more hop! WHY? I loved jumping over bombs, banana peels and those cracks on the courses to cut corners. Yeah, you guys know what I'm talking about. (This game HAS those very corners, but don't try hopping like i did, you'll fall into the pit of aggrevation) It's an instictive mario kart thing to do if you were a pro. The Gamecube is a fine piece of machinery when compared to the N64, yet most of the courses are just flat and boring. ....oh, and recovering from banana peels? Doesn't happen. Unless I missed some, the shortcuts are lame. Barely shortcuts. Seems like you need a mushroom for them to even be useful....which the first place character NEVER seems to get. This mario kart feels, plays, and looks like it's geared to 8 and 9 year olds.
