Fun game, creative more for younger players though :(

SoOoO its your boy again writing a Gamecube review for once. Now i loved playing the original Mario Kart for the N64, it is probably still ranked one of my top 5 games to date. The seqeual to the Gamecube is a great game, no doubt..but it considering it is a sequal to one of the greatest games ever, it kinda let me down.

Graphics, sound, and the arenas you race in are beautifully done, no complaints. The biggest change in this is you can now have 2 drivers in one car. One is driving, and the other is destroying your opponents with shells and bananas and what not. Sounds fun? Weeeell it is, if you havent played the original Mario Kart, if you have you will be dissapointed.

When you played multiplayer in N64 version, it hooked you in, sucked the life out of you, and put it in a jar, and sealed it shut for the entire day, or until dinner was ready. This doesn't have the same effect..sadly. You might have a couple of races with your buddies and then just turn it off and play, whatever Mario Golf or something.

Is it worth buying?? Ugh.. well i honestly don't regret buying it for my Gamecube, ( oh yea) but its one of those games where its too cold to do anything outside and you got nothing better to do and you put it in and waste maybe an hour or 2 racing. Ya no its one of those games. Its a solid game, very few flaws techinally. But i just can't grab on to it like i did for the original. Plus this one seems to be aiming at a much younger age group. Hmm.. maybe thats why i didnt like it so much. Rent it, and if you like it buy all means buy it. :)
