We shall race again!
The game is the same as the other six games. You race, you throw items, you deal with seven douchebag Ai's, and you fly. 7 is one of the best games in the series(not better then Mario Kart DS though).I always have so much fun with the game. One of the good things of this game is the graphics. The graphics are gorgeous. You can tell they really worked on these graphics, they are even better the the graphics in Mario Kart Wii. The texture is really good and doesn't look so pixalized. I also love the replay value. The game is really addictive.You will always want to come back for more Mario Kart. I can't believe how addictive the single player is.Usually, after you unlock all the charaters,single player gets boring and all you want to do is play multiplayer,but this single player is really addicting.There is also the multiplayer that is beyond awesome.Then again,Mario Kart always has great mutiplayer.The multiplater is outstanding and will always want you and your friends to keep on playing. The 3D is also outstanding in this game. The courses are great in 3D,especially Rainbow Road. The 3D truly is eye popping.The best part of the game though is the music,the music in this game is beautiful.It is very catchy and enjoyable to listen to.The best song in the game is the new Rainbow Road song.Great music.
Now let me explain some of the features and the new characters in the game. You can select some modes to play in the game. One of them is Grand Prix.Grand Prix is when you are supposed to race against seven other Mario characters and try and get in first place and win a trophy. You can select three options to play in Grand Prix. There is 50cc,100cc,and 150cc. They are the easy,medium,and hard modes in any other game. 50cc is beginner mode,100cc is average mode,and 150cc is challenging mode. If your a beginner, I strongly recommend playing 50cc,because the Ai's in 150cc are no joke.But if you already know how to play Mario Kart,then have a blast in 150cc mode. Also in the game, there is Time Trails. Time Trails is when you can race in any racing course in the game and have a good time record. Time Trails is one of the most coolest features in the game.There is also Battle Mode,a single and multiplayer feature that is in every single Mario Kart game. Battle Mode is a minigame option were you can choose either Balloon Battle or Coin Runners. Balloon Battle is when you must knock your opponents balloons of their kart and whoever has the most balloons wins.Coin Runners is when you have to collect and also steal coins from opponents.Whoever has the most coins wins. I find Coin Runners really boring and is one of the things that I don't like about the game. There is also in my opinion two of the best things in the game. That is Mario Kart Channel and Online Multiplayer. Mario Kart Channel is when you can face other Mii's(not a multiplayer feature).In order to battle other Mii's,you have to meet them via street pass(a 3DS feature). You can also put your four favorite courses in the game and the people who meet you on Street Pass will face you in those courses. Online Multiplater is really fun and highly recommend playing online. Also, the new characters in the game are Wiggler,Lakitu,Shy Guy,Honey Queen,and Metal Mario.There are also brand new power ups such as the Tanooki tail,Fire Flower,and Lucky Seven.They also brought back coins,if you collect ten coins,you will go faster. This feature was in the first Mario Kart.You can also customize your karts,the karts are cool in the game and go really fast.
Now there are some problems with the game. One of them as I mentioned before is the Coin Runners minigame.Another problem with the game is the small amount of characters. There are not many characters to unlock,while in Mario Kart Wii there were a bunch of characters. I also wish they brought back the Mission Mode from Mario Kart DS.I thought they would bring back mission mode for the next portable Mario Kart game.
Overall,this game is fantastic.I love this new addition to the Mario Kart franchise.It is fun,beautiful,exciting, addictive and downright cool. Everyone has to have this game in their 3DS library.This is a great title.
