It's the semifinals of the GameSpot Mario Kart Tournament for the Ages, where we whittle it down to four players.
What's wrong with these guys? Really, they just keep hitting the walls, failing with the weapons and when they see a snow man, they just try to run over them... always when they used a star, they drop off the track. And it don't seems that they have any idea of what is and how do a mini-turbo or a drift... Shame on them!
I think they forgot that when you are coming up on big sharp turns you CAN slow down first so as not to spin out right off the track constantly... More fun features like this! :)
Good...lol
They suck... lol
"Antiquated controls"? Who are you calling antiquated? Darn kids.
@djmmjd764 i rekon i could still do it and i haven't played that version in about 10 years, hell my mother actually can do better than these guys
anyone else feel like they couldve easily won this entire competition? lol
@Zarzha It's Wario Stadium dude, not Warrior.
Wow, these guys are horrible. This is some sort of competition and these are the finals?! Why aren't I there?
My favorite!
It was painful to watch them not figure out (or remembering) how to drift... I haven't played MK64 since back in the day but I still remember... Gotta jump first, then start wiggling the stick back and forth.
Is there a similar game nowadays?
Mario Kart 64 was awesome.
Wow, the review scores on this site are laughable - [64] for Mario Kart 64, really!? It seems Gamespot have had a like for using useless Freelancers for many years.
i would dominate this dudes
In the 2nd video, I heard groans about the mention of this game. It's very polarizing. I myself find this game to be a downer. Everytime the revive a 64 course, they tend to be the worst.
man why are they hating this game so much this is one of the best games every made period
I love Browser's castle and Boo courses sooo many traps and sooo much fun
the game is for pro not for losers
bots play better
wow their rating for this game is NOT CORRECT AT ALL
Nintendo 64 >>>> 6.4
tom = loser
Good grief I could beat all those guys at this game. Ouch!
Double Dash was my personal favorite.
Mario Kart 64 is the best Mario Kart by far. It requires long practice to become a pro (which should be case for any game honestly) Those 50ft wide roads in the subsequent Mario Karts were all boring as hell. MK64 required (hardcore) skill; which the Gamespot staff apparently lacks. Watching these guys struggle with the game (VC version even! wtf?) was painful to watch.
I like the REAL N64 version better man
1. I can't believe anyone would pick warrior statium, since any of the heavy character can jump the wall without a mushroom. 2. Game doesn't control bad, just because you don't know how to use it doesn't make it bad. If you don't know how to write codes in C++, does that make it the worst programming language in the world?
I wish I could have entered this tourny. I would steam roll these guys.
By far the worst Mario Kart game. Anyone who claims otherwise needs to take off their retro-glasses and go back and try it today, because this game controls like $#!T. Either that or you are a god among gamers who managed to overcome the horrendous kart physics this game comes with.
mario kart 64 sucks. it's the worst game in the series by far. looking forward to see them playing super mario kart though. also feeling bad for Maxwell.

Also, Shaun if the funniest colour man ever.
Oh man I feel so bad for Maxwell, I was rooting for him too(after McShea).
Wow. they suck at this game. I just played this the other day ad it was so freaking easy.
Do these people suck at mario kart 64 or something? The power sliding isn't "finicky" it's easy and consistent. They run into the walls more than a fly trying to go through a window over and over again
How the hell did they rate this a 6.4? This game is an institution.
For those that would like to play this but don't own a N64. It is well emulated and easy to use and is less than 10mb to download and will run on all modern PC's. Compatible with X-Box and other controllers for PC and can be played split screen 2-4 players. (if you are having trouble finding these websites just personal msg me. Enjoy)
Brings me back to the old days, being a kid playing MK (Mario Kart). Great game by the way. A funny thing is, GS rated this 6.4, and now their playing this!
The last great mario kart. Actually took skill and reflexes to win against other good players. Double Dash and MK Wii were way too simple to be racers
Did Gamespot actually rate this game as a 6.4? I'm shocked..
LOL
so... none of you figured out how to drift?
tough watch after seeing that guy finish mario 64 in 1hour and 47 minutes
things I learned from this tournament: Tom Magreeno poops in swimming pools Tom Mcshea killed a man Rainbow Road is where you go when you die Caro makes toy ponies this is sponsored by St Lois Shaun is extremely unprofessional :P
wee round 3~!
is it just me or do all these guys look like pretentious pricks?
I wanna have a MK tournament...
I like how mario kart 64 is reliant on actual skill oppose to double dash's unavoidable blue shells spam everywhere.
My favorite competitor is gone :(
