The original game that started all the Mario Madness!
You play as Mario, of course, or Luigi if you play 2 players. As these 2 famous plumbers you have to clear the pipes of the many creatures roaming around. Only catch is that you have to do it from underneath them. You jump up and hit the platform underneath to flip them over so you can kick them off the screen. Some enemies are harder and take a few hits to flip them. Also, the harder enemies will get mad and move alot faster after one hit.
The levels get tricky after a while with the addition of ice that makes you slip and slide and more enemies that you can handle. Plus there is a ghost that will fly accross the screen making things harder. The only "weapon" is a POW block that appears on the bottom of the screen which can be used up to 3 times before dissappearing. Don't worry, it will appear again after some time.
The 2 player mode has the players going for coins. Whoever collects the most coins first while avoiding enemies is the winner. This aspect of the game makes things more fun and add's to the massive replay value. Graphics wise I wont attack this game because its from an 8-bit world and actually looks pretty good.
A definate classic that would be enjoyed by all people from all ages.
