This game takes place in a city that looks a lot like the New York of the 1980s and 1990s. You play as Trane, a young graffiti artist looking to push the intrusive gang known as the Vandals off his turf. He must find places to tag his name, as well as battle members of the Vandals to make sure the message gets home. I grew up in New York City at the time of the setting, and let me tell you, they're not far wrong.

Fighting comes in the way of fisticuffs and nasty weapons born from anything lying scattered on the ground. It could be a bench, a two-by-four, a bottle, you name it. Scraps are brutal and may take a while to complete. Beat a man and you take his paint. That's how it goes.

The music is a great variety from the tunes of the era, rock and hip-hop alike, to new songs written just for the game. GU is as much fun to hear as it is to play.

Learn the struggle of your character to become a man on his own terms. Finally, a video game story with heart.
