Marc Ecko's Gettin' Up- Contents Under Pressure.

For the past two years E3 has been blessed with trailers and gameplay clips, but this past February delivered the game itself. Needless to say it was worth the wait.

You realize after you watch the introduction, that this game holds one thing above others; style. The music, the characters, the colors, the attitude. This game has an incredibly unique style for itself.

The game's hero is Coltrane "Trane" Crowley. In the beginning of the game he's a 'toy' which is basically a newbie at graf writing. The city of New Radius has a mayor who doesn't exactly like self-expression, he also likes to know exactly what the citizens of New Radius are doing at all times. WIth the help of the CCK (the city's goon squad) they enforce strict rules, such as a city-wide curfew.

As you take Trane through his neighborhood the game quickly shows you how to do simple things, such as Trane's impressive set of acrobatic moves. You also learn how to fight. The fighting system is quite easy to handle once you figure out how to use it properly. When you get used to it you can find yourself taking on up to 4 opponents without breaking a sweat.

But you didn't think the game's focus would be fighting would? No, it's all about writing. Graf writing, from the start you get a marker and can tag any wall you see fit. Soon your arsenal grows considerably. Spray paint, stickers, stencils, paint roller, and even some wheat paste posters for you to get your name up with.

As Trane's adventure goes through the city you get to meet some interesting characters- White Mike, who is ironically voiced by Charlie Murphy. Kry-1 who's voiced by Giovanni Ribisi. Tina, done by Rosario Dawson. The list goes on and on, you can expect the former Puff Daddy himself Sean Combs to be in there too! And even the legendary Adam West.

The voice acting is only accentuated by the game's soundtrack. You want a game with good music? Pick this game up now! It offers stuff from Kasabian, Bloc Party, Talib Kweli (the voice of Trane), B.I.G., Rhymefest, the list goes on...and that list is good.

The game's story will get you deep into the history of New Radius, and of it's corrupt mayor. You'll learn about Trane's past, his crew and the inevitable future they must reach.

All-in-all, Marc Ecko's Gettin' Up is a damn good game. It's got smooth graphics, good voice talent, fluid game controls and some of the best beats in gaming history.

So what are you waiting for? Get your name up!
