One of the best games ever created
Maniac Mantion was the one of the first adventure games made my Lucasarts. It was so well known that a T.V show was named after it from what I heard. So as the game starts you play as a guy named Dave. Then a person named Dr. Fred has kidnapped Dave's girlfriend, a young cheerleader named Sandy, and is about to perform a 'brain drain' experiment on her. So immediatly he gathers six friends to save Sandy. With each of Dave's friends they have there own special abilities to help dave on his mission to save his girlfriend. When this game was first released in 1987, It was revolutionary in it's gameplay. It had a game changing 'engine' that allowed point and click play instead of typing in commands, and screen scrolling for the first time. And it had an unheard of level of replayability because both the story line and the puzzles changed according to which characters you chose, with up to 9 possible endings. The pussles in this game is accually quite challenging which requires you to be creative to solve the problem. Graphics: The graphics are accully very well done considering the time period. At that time most games where blocky, large and pixilated. But the graphics are drawn out, detailed and colorful. Sound: Well this game came out in 1987 so there is no voice acting in this game just subtitles. And the only sound is made though the computer you know the litle beebs and stuff.
Value: All in all this is one of the best game of it's time. But even today it's still fun to play. I give this game 9 out of 10.
