One of the best games of it's time, and to this day it's still a complete blast to play.

User Rating: 10 | Maniac Mansion NES
Maniac Mansion is one of the most entertaining, unique, and memorable games I've ever played. I first played this on the Commodore 64, but I was a little to young to enjoy, seeing as there are some fairly complex puzzles. I got this game a few years later on the NES. And a decade and a half or so later, I bought it used again. I also found it online and played it. This game was ahead of it's time, with an in depth (and extremely quirky) storyline, likable and unique characters, and multiple endings depending on your choices as well as the characters in your party. I'd love to see an updated version of this game, or maybe an updated sequel.

The game is point-and-click style. You alternate between three characters. The main protagonist is Dave, whose girlfriend was kidnapped by a mad scientist. The other 2 characters are yours to choose between several characters. They all have unique abilities that will come in handy during the game, so once you finish the game, you can play again with different characters and the game will go in a different direction, with a different ending and all. For example, one of the characters is a photographer, and has the ability to use a darkroom in the mansion to develop photos. If he's not in your party, you won't be able to do this, but you'll be able to do something else unique with whatever characters you have.

If you're a fan of adventure games, find a way to play this game.
