In my opinion Lucas Arts does just about a perfect job, this is an excellent adventure game!

Day of the Tentacle, also known as the sequel game to Maniac Mansion from 1987, is a point & click puzzle-adventure game with three young protagonists (a laid-back metalhead, a loney pre-med student and a uber nerd) trying to save earth from it's total apocalypse. It all starts when the villain Purple Tentacle, a creation of the more or less insane Dr. Fred Edison, eats some industrial waste, which makes him hyper intelligent and gives him an urge to conquer the world. Now, it's all up to the protagonists, who must travel back and forth in time in order to prevent Purple Tentacle from consuming the toxic waste.
In my opinion Lucas Arts does just about a perfect job, this is an excellent adventure game! It's not everyday you see it, but there's not a single thing to point out. I all falls together beautifully. It's nutty, charming, hilarious and very intelligent.
So if you haven't played this game yet, there is not a second to waste!
