Story:
Set in dilapidated Carcer City, the story opens with a female journalist reporting on the convict (main character) James Earl Cash, who is shown being executed by lethal injection. he then wakes up in an abandoned building by a voice coming from a earpiece. the earpiece tells him that he was sedated and introduces himself as the director. the director tells him that the only way that he going to survive, is to kill every one in his path while the director films him. Released in a dingy neighborhood, Cash is directed to slaughter his way through the streets, populated by a gangs and thugs.
Gameplay:
The gameplay is mainly stealth, you find weapons such as plastic bags, crowbars, broken glass, knifes, guns, shotguns, baseball bats, machetes, fishing wires, chainsaws and more.....
and brutally execute enemy's as gruesome as possible. you sneak up behind them and before you kill them, a circle icon appears on top of the enemy's and the longer you hold it, the more gruesome the kills. grey is a quick kill, yellow is more violent, and red is the most brutal.
Sound:
there is not much sound to the game, there is no in-game music instead you get mainly the heartbeat of the player and the wind, the weapons sound okay and the listening to the enemy's talk can often sometimes be amusing as they say the most weirdest stuff (especially the SMILEYS in the mental asylum mission) you are sometimes given objects like bottles, bricks, and cans to throw and distract enemy's and sneak past them or execute them. For the ps2 and xbox version, you can plug in the usb mich and make noises to distract enemy's.
Controls:
the controls are okay, at first you may accidentally swing in thin air while you trying to perform an execution and that may make some noise and cause the enemy to be alert and attack the player. but you get use to that, you move around with the W,S,A,D keys and move the camera with the mouse. you scroll through your weapons with the 1,2,3,4,5,6 or with the wheel on the mouse.
Overall:
The game is enjoyable to stealth and gore fans, it may seem a bit lame at first but it becomes enjoyable and addictive. the kills are gruesome and sick and are always cool to pull off.

Manhunt is a great and really violent game, which could've been a lot better without the shooter part.

The controls might cause you to shoot yourself in the foot... So, plan on an escape route...
