Manhunt User Review
Manhunt proves that super bloody game play doesn't mean a game will necessarily be a great one. It's also repetitive.

the good: good graphics with the most goriest game play ever, decent voice acting, creepy music the bad: death animations get boring and repetitive, repetitive environments, not big choice in weaponry, no plot of any kind, game play gets boring.
Game play: you will control James Earl Cash in 3rd person. The point of the game is to get to the end of a certain level, killing all enemies in the goriest way possible for a movie director that saved you from getting executed. Fighting the enemies one on one is dangerous, mainly because you and the enemies will get an equal amount of hits on each other, and if it is two on one, you are screwed. Thats when you must use the shadows to hide and silently kill the enemy while he isn't paying attention. Thats when there is a problem. The shadows aren't shadows at all. All you have to do is step on ground that is darker than usual and the enemy will lose you most of the time. Then you must wait until the enemy awareness meter drops in the green zone, and when its in that zone, the enemy will act as if nothing happened and thats when he wont be paying attention and you can nail him. It will get pretty boring when you must wait all this time to just kill a person. Another bad thing about this game is that while walking in stealth mode, Carl walks extremely slow, and the enemy walks faster, so its almost impossible to silently kill. If you run up to him, he will hear you, and will start chasing you until you run in a shadow. Most of the time you will be carrying a bat as your weapon mostly because almost all enemies carry bats and the kills that you make with these bats get boring. Graphics: Manhunt has the most repetitive level designs than any action game i saw. You will mostly be walking around in poor gritty looking areas covered in garbage. The character models look decent though. The enemy design is varied, and many thugs you encounter will have a sadistic look to them. Weapons in the game are poorly designed. Weapons range from simple garbage bags to nail guns which look very simple. The biggest reason to get Manhunt is the gore. Every weapon has 3 kills. You must have your cross hair over an enemy and then hold the fire button and the cross hair will change color. The longer you hold it, the more brutal the kill will be if you let go while near a thug. But as I said before, the violence gets really boring.
Sound: The sound in Manhunt I would say is good. James never talks, but instead the director talks to James and tells him what he has to do next. Usually he will just tell him where to go and will inform you if your kills are not violent enough. The thugs in the game are very hilarious and are fun to listen to. Whenever you run from them and then hide, they will start cursing and yell out ridiculous speech to you. The firing of the guns sound pretty good and as well as the impact of the melee weapons. Value: The game is pretty long, and the hard difficulty will extend the game play even longer to maybe 14 hours total. The replay value is fine, since you can replay all the levels that you have already played. Overall: While the game doesn't have any bugs and overall looks good, it is a very repetitive game and the stealth is ridiculously simple and unfinished. When Cash is in a shadow, it doesn't look like he is in a shadow and at first you might think that the A.I is dumb for not seeing him. Manhunt doesn't deserve to be called a stealth game and maybe Rockstar should just get back to making GTA.

Very bloody and brutal. One of Rockstar's more infamous titles that despite it's content, is definitely worth a look.

Probably the most disturbing game that I thought was 100% enjoyable.

One of Rockstar's beautifully crafted bloody hidden gems. No surprise here, it's fantastic.
