Wow, there is nothing quite like Manhunt on the market. Rockstar takes the violence of GTA and focuses on it and pushes it to the limit that makes for another controversal game.
You play as a prisoner who's death has been faked so he can participate in a TV show for rich people to watch either you or a gang of thugs kill each other. The graphics aren't top notch but are on par with other titles created by Rockstar. The X Box is capable of much more. But the graphics do have an art appeal, they are gritty, dark and functional for the game idea. The voice acting, the music, and the sounds are what really set the mood for this game. The language is vile and harsh, it's definatley not a kids game. The main character (your capture) is well done. I like that the player actually get to wear a head set like the main character in the game to recieve instructions. That pulls you into the game more. The controls could use some work. They aren't quite as responsive as I would like. The buttons I feel aren't set up quite as I would like and there is no way to change them around. The difficulty level of the game is pretty high. You really don't want to face down a group of thugs all at once face on. it's better if you make some raquet and then sneak up on them. You will die pretty quickly so plan to see the game over screen quite a bit. The levels can be pretty long so plan on sitting for a while. I have played the PS2 version as well and the XB version is supereior. Enjoy the violence.
