Great sim quality, low on realistic "feel"

User Rating: 8 | Major League Baseball 2K5 XBOX
With 2k5 you can closely simulate what it might be like to play a real MLB game. Using various sliders, as well as sim-style game options, it's about as close as it gets. However, the movements of players, including strange "ball leaving bat" behavior, just makes the game "feel" a bit off. I prefer 2k5 when I'm simulating the real playoffs or World Series, but I like MVPs everyday playability and realistic feel. The visual aspects are fantastic. Ballparks look great, players are recognizable. The camera angle at the plate is a bit odd, seems more wide-angle than last year's game and I can't seem to find the right camera zoom config to make it play like 2k4 from the camera perspective. If you are looking for a high quality simulation style baseball with, with fantastic online play through player-run leagues, this is your game. If you desire more fast paced action, with more polished gameplay mechanics, them check out EA's MVP offering.
