User Rating: 7.5 | Majesty 2: The Fantasy Kingdom Sim PC
Let me get this out of the way first, I never payed the original Majesty. In fact I didn't hear about it till I read about Majesty 2 a few months back. This didn't stop me from getting the game the first day of release though.

Well the tutorial missions are fun and helpful which is more then what one can say for RTS tutorials. Is a must if you have never played Majesty before like me.
While I have not finished the campaign, so far it was filled with fun missions however it will get repetitive after a while and the difficulty will start to increase faster then you can say anamanaguchi.
This is neither a good or bad thing however it's a nuisance.
The game does not let you set your difficulty level and for those casual or not so good Majesty players it will become a tedious trial and error situation for a lot of maps to come.

Now I don't know who thought this would be a good idea but they really weren't shooting for a casual audience with this.
For one thing the name of the game is Fantasy kingdom Sim, however this is an RTS game with no difficulty setting in single player missions that doesn't leave room to breathe.

If you can make it past turn 24 when either ogres or vampires with dozens of veteran monsters ransacking your town then give yourself a tap in the back.
Chances are you will die many many times if you have not found the "right" formula. This should not be, but unfortunately there is no sandbox mode for you to mess around with your heroes, and the game is constantly testing you to destroy monster lairs or be destroyed from the inside with either graveyards or sewers that cannot be destroyed.

You don't directly control your heroes and they are free to do whatever they want, it is unfortunate that most of the time if you don't put a bounty on something they are pretty much useless.
Granted there are times they actually do help but they don't do it enough or as you expected.
The AI is very clumsy and needs patching as well. Heroes will walk straight by monsters to there destination and ignore everything on there path unless attacked. What this means is a wizard heading to a crypt and ignoring a giant bear until the bear forces it into a melee match. Not very bright.
Another example is heroes attacking a mob of 6 monsters and after defeating 1 or 2 there scripts kick in and they turn around and head back to town to either get some grub or buy new items/armor, the monsters however are still attacking our fellow heroes or head to the town themselves bringing a bigger headache. So you got heroes walking right next to skeletons to the town together!
Good job AI.

The economy is nothing out of this world, you build bazaar, armory etc. stuff your heroes need and upgrades. They buy you get rich.
Tax collectors get taxes from your peasants automatically so funds are never really a worry.

Graphics are a bit outdated but still appeasing to the eyes. 7/10

The game gets repetitive pretty fast, recruit heroes, explore for lairs, destroy lairs, good game.
The only difference in some missions is the bosses such as a giant ogre or dragon, these bosses require parties of high level heroes with top notch gear.

Repetitive not much depth after a few good 5 hours or so.
The multi player is the same formula but against other real life opponents, I can't review this part much since there is an annoyance at the moment with Russian servers running different version then there American counterparts, leaving very few servers open to me and I haven't gotten the time to find some.

Gameplay: Unorthodox style where you don't directly control but set bounties. Refreshing but not enough to keep you hooked. 3/5
Graphics: Dated but passable. 3/5
Sound: Funny and lighthearted but nothing amazing. 3/5
Playability: Definitely not for everybody, you will either give it a few hours and forget it, or give it a few days and run out of content. 3/5
