Great Game, Not Free

User Rating: 8.5 | Magic: The Gathering - Tactics PC
This game is awesome, if you're into a trading card tactics game. The trading card adventure genre has really made some interesting games. This game is more arena tactics based than an adventure. It's like mage knight or final fantasy tactics with mtg creatures and spells. I think it's lots of fun.

Having said that, onto the fact that they claim this game is free. Yeah, for maybe about an hour. In that hour I realized the potential for mtgt and I pulled out the 'ol cc.
I've spent over $100 so far. I think i'm done spending actual cash, but there's still 1 card i have to have from the auction house. $4 for booster packs, $5 for 5 single player maps is a bit expensive but ok. $5 for 50 gold in game to trade with is ridiculous. There are cards in the auction house for 700+ gold. Thats $70 in real money for 1 card. This game is not free. I guess thats wizards way of making you pay to play a game were you actually build your own deck. I still kind of wish there was a way to make it just cost $50-60, one time cost.

I think this game would get better scores if they advertised the pricing better or at all. So, people are giving it really low scores, ones, without having really experienced the fun of this game. I love the mixed strategy of builing my own decks and having board obstacles. The graphics are not spectacular, but having collected mage knight figures, its nice to see the creatures animated. The more people who play the funner it will be.

I think giving a review of one should be saved for things that are barely even able to be called a game or at all fun. Besides, the ones reviews on here are duplicates with different usernames.

9 - if they didn't advertise play for free
8.5 - to slightly offset the ones
