Mag is an all multi-player 1st person shooter game. The game Mag takes place in the future where all social society has gone to hell. At the intro of the game it shows a relatively short cut-scene of a fully action packed war with soldiers coming from tanks and RPG's, grenades and other explosives flying endlessly. This of course is a major exaggeration as the game is mostly popping in and out of things. I would though compare this to the game Call of Duty but that would be an offense. Anyway the game can house over 200 people on a single network which does show some originality in its design. At the starting point you can chose from 3 factions each with their own looks, and guns but all the guns in each faction are the exact same in stats. You can choose RAVEN a Central American military force that seems to overdo it on fancy weaponry and shiny looking devices. Seryi Volk Executive Response or S.V.E.R also pronounced (sever) is a terrorist like military with makeshift looking weapons and a large taste for charging the crap out of the competition but none the less it's an excellent team and my favorite. Valor is a united states military with more standard equipment like m4's and such. With these factions comes advancement. You level up in the game by just about anything u do killing, planting bombs, reviving team mates or healing them, or even repairing equipment gains you exp. The game has a large variety of options and there's always something to do on the battle field although leveling up is very slow and difficult. Health is a counting bar and the only way to heal is by stabbing yourself in the arm with an awkward looking syringe which is lame for the fact that you pretty much have to have it with you at all times or your dead. Weapons and equipment have CE points and you can only have a limited amount though the whole game which again is lame since you have to carry the syringe around which takes up a decent amount of space. There's no way to increase the limit which means heavier gun users cant have as much fun as they want and also limits the games action. You can also customize accessories on you character but your face stays the same. But the customizability is very linier which is annoying because you can only customize your uniform, your helmet, and 1 accessory. The uniform is the only defense you get. The helmet is useless and so is the accessory. For the suit you can chose from 3 types of plating and 5 is you down load the suits from the playstation network which of course is free. There light, light+, medium, medium+, and heavy. The game also features only basic game modes like sabotage and team death match. The are 3 battle fields for each game mode except team death match which is played with your own faction. I don't want to give too much away but it is a game worth renting and if you a fan of large 1st person shooters then this is the game for you.
I usually don't write reviews but I'm going to say my peace about MAG. I give it a score of 8.5 and that's only because there's no single player. If there was a single player I'd give this game between 9.0-9.5. LIke many... Read Full Review
