Best shooter in the last couple months

User Rating: 8.5 | MAG PS3
This is an amazing game.
Perfect for those who enjoy a more realistic view of warfare.
It says it can play with up to about 250 players at a time, which is absolutely true. The connectivity isnt really a problem, it happens occasionally.

The game doesnt have to many different game modes but includes a lot of other features. The game has a lot of skills you unlock using points you gain after each level.
The skills include from passive effects and "purchasing" attachments for your gun (each gun can have up to 3 attachments.)
There are no perks or killstreaks which is good to see because that would add a slight bit more realism to the game. You have 3 choices of characters, but they aren't really much different. I haven't been able to see the maps that much either.
You run like you're on steroids, compared to other FPS games but the maps are quite large, because of the number of players.

The controls are quite odd but you get used to them quick. They aren't like CoD or Battlefield.

The difficulty is quite hard if you used to play on high sensitivities like me. You need to be dead on with sniper rifles and hip firing is just about useless unless if you're staying still.

The graphics aren't the best but I've noticed a lot of games being released. They have fairly thick lines in the art. MAG is the same but the textures are beautifully done.

The voices are nice but the phrases are overly cheesy such as "Go on without me"
The guns sound weak and some of the sounds sound like they have been ripped out of CoD or another game.

A quick comparison to the most anticipated but quite disappointing FPS, CoD MW2.
MAG:
-Online only
-Fair gameplay (No killstreaks, overpowered things and actually has some recoil.)
-Choose what you unlock
-Few Game modes
-Occasionally lags
-Controls are not that...good... but easy to get used to.
-Graphics have thick lines but other than that it's quite nice.

CoD MW2:
-Has 3 main modes (Spec Ops, Campaign, Multiplayer)
-Gameplay isn't fair (UMP45(overpowered) Perks etc.)
- The guns get worse as you level up....
-Tons of game modes that are classic to the Call of Duty online gameplay and the 3rd Person view which is new to CoD.
-Lags a lot when it does but depends on host.
-The controls are nice and easy to adapt to.
- Graphics are beautiful for the most part.

To conclude this. MAG is for those who think CoD MW2 is to unrealistic since just about everyone has the game, and for those who want the closest to a realistic FPS without rage quitting.

Graphics 8/10 As i said the graphics have thick lines, c'mon i thoght we got rid of that issue during the 64bit consoles

Gameplay 9/10 The only issue is that it's to hard to aim perfectly and there is no campaign.

Fairness 9.5/10 In this game it seems those MLG pros dominate the game...

Sound 8/10 The voicing is nice, but the phrases are cheesy. The guns sound like peashooters and the effects sometimes sound like they're from another game.

I still like it more than Call of Duty but there are minor issues that you can live with.
