MadWorld: My thoughts of the game.

I played this game today, and after the first segment of the second level, which is Asian Town, I stopped playing. This game to me and possibly many other old-school gamers, has the "been there, done that" feeling. The gameplay has lots of blood and gore, which is something that hardcore gamers woulld like. I like intense violence, but this game could have been much better. Let's start. The gameplay is basically the same as many other beat-em-up's. You can grab enemies and throw them; you can hit enemies with objects etc. In other words, the gameplay in MadWorld is the same as God of War and Devil May Cry. So what makes not have fun with MadWorld? Well let me start by saying that there is no feeling of "greatness" in the characters. Jack is basically the same old typical badass, the same type of personality that I've already dealt with many times in past games. The enemies are generic. The commentators are funny, but the jokes get very stale after a while. The bosses are generic. Getting into the elements of the gamelay, the gameplay is button mashing where you beat up enemies to a pulp. The gameplay is fun initially, but after an hour, it gets very boring. No offense to anybody who enjoy this game, but if nothing new is added to the gameplay as you progress through the game, the flow of combat gets very stale and you start to lose interest in fighting. It's like Super Smash Bros. Brawl, where the game is fun intially, but since the gameplay remains the same throughout the game, you get bored of the game and you just don't feel like playing it anymore. The graphics in MadWorld are decent, but nothing you'll grasp. The game is presented in a black and white style visual aspect, which is something great and new. One thing though, is that the blood is red, not black. It would make more sense to have all of the visual effects be in black and white, since the blood is typically a part of the game. This game is somewhat of a "comic" style of game, where it's a universe inside of a comic book. I guess I just don't enjoy this style of presentation. Maybe the game could have been better if the presentation was a realistic world visual instead of a comic book presentation, but anyway, that's just me. The soundtrack is dull. I apologize to any rap or hip hop fans, but I'm not a fan of hip hop or rap. The sound effects are bland and generic. The weapons don't sound all that good, or does the enemy death sequence sounds. So anyway, I didn't enjoy this game. Disagree if you want, I won't stop you.
